From submission to acceptance — how your paper travels through the IPA 2027 review process.
Between 1 November 2026 and 31 January 2027 (23:59 CET), upload your anonymised manuscript, your title page and any supplementary materials to the online platform. You will need to select whether you are submitting to the main IPA Conference or to the Emerging Scholars Colloquium, and to classify your work by topic according to an agreed thematic list.
You will receive an automated acknowledgement and a submission ID. Use this ID in all correspondence with the secretariat.
Each paper is reviewed by at least two members of the Scientific Committee — and, where appropriate, by other conference authors who have agreed to review. Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.
By 31 March 2027 (or 26 March 2027 for the ESC), you will receive a decision: accept, conditional accept, or reject. Reviewer comments are forwarded to authors of accepted papers.
Once acceptances are confirmed, the organising committee assigns each accepted paper to a discussant drawn from the pool of conference authors. Discussants receive the paper a few weeks before the conference.
To remain in the programme, presenting authors must complete their registration by the registration deadline (date to be announced). Papers whose authors are not registered cannot be included in the printed and online programme.
Sessions are 90 minutes long and typically include three papers, each with a discussant. Time per paper is 25–30 minutes including discussant remarks and Q&A.
After the conference, all presenters receive a digital certificate of presentation through the submission platform.
