Currency & payments
The currency is the Euro (€). Card payments are accepted virtually everywhere, including taxis and most small shops. ATMs are widely available in the city centre.
Electricity
Spain uses 230 V / 50 Hz with type-C and type-F sockets (the standard European two-pin plug). Travellers from outside continental Europe should bring an adapter.

Mid-July is typically dry and pleasantly warm in Burgos — 25 to 32 °C during the day, dropping to around 15 °C at night.
Time zone
Central European Summer Time (CEST, UTC+2) in July. Burgos is one hour ahead of London and six hours ahead of New York.
Tipping
Tipping is appreciated but not obligatory. Rounding up the bill in restaurants and bars is the norm; 5–10% for excellent service is generous.
Tap water
Burgos tap water is of excellent quality and perfectly safe to drink.

For any emergency, dial 112 — the pan-European emergency number, with English-speaking operators.
Language
The local language is Spanish (Castilian). The conference, signage and all delegate-facing communication is in English; basic Spanish phrases are always appreciated.
Health
EU citizens should bring their European Health Insurance Card. Non-EU visitors are strongly advised to have travel/medical insurance.
