Welcome to IPA 2027

The ERGO Research Group is delighted to announce that the University of Burgos will host the 15th Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Accounting (IPA) Conference in July 2027.

The conference is an established forum for research into the social, political and organizational aspects of accounting. It brings together accounting scholars with broad social-science interests, drawing on a wide range of disciplinary perspectives — including anthropology, ecology, history, philosophy, political economy and sociology.

In line with previous editions, IPA 2027 aims to provide accounting researchers with a distinctive forum for further developing interdisciplinary debate on accounting research and its multidimensional impact on society, emphasizing methodological plurality, emerging paths and innovative research avenues.

We invite researchers from all areas of the social sciences and humanities to submit papers. The conference format is designed to give presenters a constructive forum to discuss their research: all papers undergo a double-blind review process; discussants present accepted papers, the author(s) respond, and an open discussion follows.

The conference is preceded by the Emerging Scholars Colloquium (ESC), 12–13 July 2027. The ESC provides a unique space for early-career researchers to make their projects visible and receive feedback from prestigious faculty and outstanding doctoral students.

Conference venue: Fórum Evolución — Palacio de Congresos de Burgos.
ESC venue: Campus San Amaro — University of Burgos.

The conference will take place at Fórum Evolución, a contemporary congress venue in the heart of the city, just minutes from the cathedral and the historic centre.

The Emerging Scholars Colloquium will be held at the Campus San Amaro of the University of Burgos, a short walk from the Fórum Evolución.
